OUR APPROACH…
The teaching model at École Centrale Casablanca is built around close interaction with the professional world. From the very beginning of the programme, engineering students are exposed to real business environments through projects, assignments, internships and conferences that form an integral part of the curriculum.
These different experiences enable students to progressively develop their technical, professional and interpersonal skills, as well as their autonomy, adaptability and understanding of how organisations operate.
The relationship between the School and the business community aims to create strong and lasting ties, through which engineering students, companies and École Centrale Casablanca combine their expertise and resources to support their respective development. This collaboration also contributes to providing practical responses to major economic, environmental and societal challenges.
…IN PRACTICE
Throughout the Engineering Programme, students complete several periods of professional immersion, enabling them to gradually discover the workplace, refine their career plans and prepare to fully take on the responsibilities of an engineer.
First year: a minimum six-week operator internship to understand how a company works
All students enrolled in the first year of the Engineering Programme are required to complete a compulsory operator internship lasting at least six consecutive weeks.
This first professional immersion enables students to discover how a company operates in practice, the nature of operational tasks, and the relationships between operators, managers and the various levels of the organisational hierarchy. It also gives them the opportunity to observe the organisation, management and supervision methods implemented within the host organisation.
The assignment and tasks entrusted to the intern must be clearly defined by the company. The host organisation must also provide close supervision throughout the internship. As this experience is intended to provide genuine immersion in the workplace, students must be continuously present on the company’s premises and fully integrated into its teams.
Period: between July and the end of August of the current year.
Second year: a 10- to 12-week assistant engineer internship within a project team
The assistant engineer internship is the first real opportunity for students to join a project team and contribute to a technical assignment.
It enables them to apply the scientific and technical knowledge acquired during their studies, while developing essential engineering skills such as organisation, analysis, design, project management and team supervision.
Supported by a professional within the company and monitored by École Centrale Casablanca, students must be able to understand a specific issue, propose appropriate solutions and make a practical contribution to their implementation.
Duration: between 10 and 12 weeks.
Between the second and third years: a gap year to enrich a professional or personal project
Students enrolled in the second year may choose to temporarily suspend their studies in order to gain additional experience, develop new skills or carry out a personal or professional project in Morocco or abroad.
The gap year may take different forms:
a professional placement within a company;
an academic gap year;
a volunteering assignment;
a language study programme;
an entrepreneurial project.
The gap year lasts 12 months and is generally divided into two successive six-month periods.
Although optional, it provides a particularly valuable opportunity for students to discover new environments, develop greater independence and maturity, refine their career plans and strengthen their employability upon graduation.
Third year: a five- to six-month Final-Year Project involving a genuine engineering assignment
The Final-Year Project internship is the most important professional experience of the Engineering Programme. Completed during the third and final year, it enables students to demonstrate their ability to work as graduate engineers on a real business challenge.
Unlike previous internships, the Final-Year Project does not simply involve observing a professional environment or carrying out predefined tasks. Students take responsibility for a genuine engineering project, requiring them to analyse a problem, design and propose solutions, organise their implementation and deliver tangible added value to the company.
This assignment enables students to apply all the technical, methodological, organisational and interpersonal skills acquired throughout their studies.
The Final-Year Project also represents a genuine pathway to a first job, as many companies choose to recruit their interns upon completion of the placement.
Duration: between five and six months.
